This exquisite attire pays homage to the splendor and beauty of the Guaria Morada, Costa Rica’s national flower. This vibrant orchid symbolizes the nation’s natural beauty and thrives in various regions, showcasing the country’s rich ecosystem diversity. Traditionally, this flower graces decorations and arrangements during Holy Week and other celebrations. In the past, it was a common sight in household gardens.

Componenettes of this splendid ensemble:
Enagua (Skirt):
The front of the skirt, or “enagua,” is sleek, extending down to the ankles and featuring two ruffles. The first ruffle starts at knee height and gracefully drapes over the second, with each layer adorned with ribbons.

Camisola (Blouse):
The “camisola” is a broad, rectangular piece with an oval, open neckline, elegantly showcasing the neck and part of the shoulders.
This blouse boasts billowy sleeves, adding a touch of charm to the upper arm area.

Gola (Collar):
The “gola” embellishes the upper portion of the blouse and typically consists of 3 to 6 layers of intricate lace.
