A Celebration of Life, Memory & Culture

Step into the vibrant tradition of Día de Muertos and celebrate the lives of those who came before us.

Join us at Gastown for a colorful procession filled with music, Catrinas, flowers, and tradition. Inspired by a Mexican celebration that honors loved ones who have passed, the parade brings the community together through remembrance, creativity, and joy.

Come dressed as a Catrina or Catrín, bring your family and friends, and become part of this beautiful cultural celebration during Latin American Heritage Month.

Please arrive a few minutes early so you can get settled before the procession begins.

Everyone is welcome

You don’t need to be Mexican or Latin American to take part. The procession is open to anyone who wants to learn about and honour this tradition.

We ask participants to treat Día de Muertos as a practice of remembrance, not a Halloween costume: no gore, horror or zombie makeup, and no costumes that mock Latinamerican or Indigenous cultures.
