Celso Machado
Celso Machado is a Brazilian-born guitarist, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist and composer whose music has carried the rhythms and musical traditions of Brazil to audiences around the world.
Now based in British Columbia, Machado has spent more than four decades creating a distinctive musical language rooted in Brazilian popular and folkloric traditions while embracing influences from across the globe. His work brings together guitar, percussion, voice and an extraordinary range of instruments, creating performances that are both deeply rooted and remarkably inventive.
Throughout his career, Machado has shared stages with internationally renowned musicians including Sérgio and Odair Assad, Badi Assad, Romero Lubambo and Yamandu Costa, and has opened for artists including Gilberto Gil and Bebel Gilberto.
His recordings have received multiple Juno Award nominations, and his work as a composer for film has also been recognized with a Leo Award.
For Raíces & Ritmos, Machado brings something particularly meaningful: the sound of Brazil, carried across borders and generations, and reimagined through his lifelong musical journey between Brazil and Canada.

Mr. Pablo is a DJ and visual artist known for his carefully curated vinyl sets and eclectic approach to global music. His selections move effortlessly through disco, funk, house and tropical sounds, creating sets that are as much about discovery as they are about dancing.
With a deep connection to vinyl culture, Mr. Pablo brings an analog, tactile energy to the dance floor—digging into records, unexpected grooves and timeless sounds to create a musical journey in real time.
For Raíces & Ritmos, his all-vinyl set becomes a celebration of rhythm and connection, weaving Latin and global influences into an elegant late-night soundtrack for Vancouver.
