Since last June 30th, countless families have lost their homes due to the devastating fire that came over to the small Lytton Village in BC. Over 90% of the properties have been destroyed, and while police are looking for an explanation for the start of the fire since it was claimed it may have been human-caused, the over 1000 residents of Lytton are still looking for help to get back on their feet as fast as they can.
Over a million dollars have been collected to help the residents of Lytton, but donations by either cash or goods are still being received so they can go directly to the families. Items such as groceries, campaign supplies, baby items, hygiene items or personal electronics can make a difference at this moment. Residents of BC can drop-off their donations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Aldergrove and Hope. For up to date information on what is needed and times for dropoff, click here.
If you are not able to donate goods via dropoff in any of the locations, you can still donate money online in one of the many verified go fund me pages. The money goes directly to the families, individuals or businesses listed in the page. For more information on the go fund me pages, click here.
